Are You Designing A Master Bedroom With A Dramatic Look?

Are you lucky enough to be designing your own master bedroom from scratch? If you have chosen to give the master bedroom a very dramatic look, you will more than likely end up with an eclectic feeling to the master bedroom. From choosing epoxy flooring to selecting furniture for the room, here are some ideas that might help you.

​The Flooring Material - Have you ever seen epoxy floors before? Maybe you haven't seen them in real life, but you might have seen epoxy flooring as you looked at home and garden magazines. If you select epoxy flooring for your master bedroom, consider working with professionals who have the training and the experience to give you a floor that will last for a very long time. In addition, professionals will more than likely have a portfolio of different ways you can have epoxy flooring. You can choose a bright color, the look of wood, or even the look of water. Imagine having a bedroom that looks like it is suspended on top of water with a waterfall as part of the design. You can have that with epoxy flooring.

Another idea for a unique floor would be to select cement. Professionals can give your cement floor the look of anything from Mexican tile to Italian marble or even a Persian rug. Like epoxy, a cement floor will be easy to care for and will last for a very long time.

The Bedroom Furniture - Since you are wanting a dramatic look in your master bedroom, consider not getting matching furniture. For example, select a brass headboard for your bed, but select mismatched antique bedside tables. Look for things like a travel chest for the foot of your bed. Papasan chairs would give the room a unique look, too. Think of buying a floor to ceiling wooden shelf where you can display things like family photographs or items that you have bought as you have traveled to different places.

If you selected a water design for your epoxy floor, consider also having a wall water fountain as part of your master bedroom decor. If you went with bright turquoise for an epoxy floor, think of other places you can use the turquoise color. For example, if you have chosen a yellow bedspread or comforter, select turquoise throw pillows that will complement your turquoise epoxy floor. If you selected the look of water for your epoxy floor, consider throw pillows that have things like fish or boats as the focal point of the pillow.
